14 WANDA DIAMOND LEAGUE MEETINGS IN 2022 CALENDAR
The 2022 Wanda Diamond League season will begin in Doha on May 13th and finish at a two-day final in Zurich on September 7th-8th.

The 41st edition of the Golden Gala was highlighted by four world leading performances set by Sifan Hassan in the women’s 1500m (3:53.63), Jakob Ingebrigtsen in the 5000m (12:48.43), Omar McLeod in the men’s 110 metres hurdles (13.01), Soufiane El Bekkali in the men’s 3000m steeplechase (8:08.54). Jasmine Camacho Quinn set the meeting record in the women’s 100m hurdles with 12.38.

It’s going to be a great show in the jumping events: Mutaz Barshim and Ilya Ivanyuk will face Italy’s Gianmarco Tamberi in the men’s high jump. Malaika Mihambo will take on Maryna Bekh, Ivana Spanovic and Larissa Iapichino. The women’s pole vault will be headlined by Katerina Stefanidi and Anzhelika Sidorova.

Super middle-distance in the 40th anniversary of Coe’s WR in Florence
Super middle-distance races on 10th June will be attended by Sebastian Coe, who broke the 800m world record in 1981. Cheptegei and Barega in the 5000m, Hassan and Kypiegon (1500m), Kipruto and El Bakkali are the the most eagerly awaited athleties.
Golden Gala, Olympic preview in Florence
It’s going to be a star-studded night of athletics. World athletics stars will be in the spotlight in Italy at the 41st edition of the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea, the third leg of the Wanda Diamond League. Cheptegei, Barega and Ingebrigtsen will run in the men’s 5000 metres. Asher Smith will headline the women’s 200 metres. Simbine is the top name in the men’s 100 metres. The full line-up has been unvelied.

World high jump champion Barshim will clash against Tamberi, Ivanyuk and Nedasekau in a show competition. Olympic gold medallist Ekaterini Stefanidi will face world champion Sidorova in the pole vault. The women’s 1500m features a super 1500m race with Hassan, Kipyegon and Muir.
