Golden Gala and the art of speed

Mennea and Bolt, two golden athletes who cross the finish-line together raising their arms to the sky. This could be the cover-picture of the Golden Gala-Pietro Mennea, the fifth leg of the IAAF Diamond League scheduled on Thursday 6th June at the Rome Olympic Stadium. In reality this is a work made by the “Brivido Pop” (the art name of the artists Marco Innocenti and Fabrizio Micheli) titled “L’oro due”. This a digital collage printed on canvas with rips of paper which make the picture unique. This picture and another one called “this is only the beginning”, which show the start from the block of Pietro Mennea will be presented to Usain Bolt and to Mennea’s wife Emanuela Olivieri. As already known, the 33rd edition of the Rome athletics meeting has been dedicated to Mennea, the fastest ever Italian sprinter and Moscow 1980 Olympic gold medallist in the 200m, the distance over which he held the world record for 17 years with 19.72. The record now is held by Usain Bolt with 19.19. The Jamaican sprinter will be the most awaited star in the 100m.

Tickets – The tickets to attend the 2013 edition of the Golden Gala are available in allTicketone shops and online on www.ticketone.it. Ticket prices are as follows (pre-sell fee not included: Monte Mario Main Stand (100 m starting-line) 40 Euros, Tribuna Tevere 20 Euros, Distinti Arrivi 15 Euros; Curve and Distinti 5 Euros.

The Golden Gala pass – This year all athletics fans will have the chance to attend the Golden Gala moving around the different sections of the Stadium using a special Golden Gala Pass. The Golden Gala pass can be bought at only 30 Euros on Ticketone and will give the access to the following reserved seats: Curva Sud Sector 19, Distinti Sud Est sector 22, Tribuna Tevere sector 40, Distinti Nord Est sector 45, Curva Nord sector 48, Distinti Nord Ovest sector 51.
