Bolt is coming to the Compeed Golden Gala, Rudisha KO

The first contingent of world-class stars who will take part in the Compeed Golden Gala on Thursday evening, the third leg of the Samsung Diamond League IAAF, arrived in Rome this morning. The first athlete to arrive was Berlin long jump World champion Brittney Reese, who came this morning directly from the USA at 8.30. Second on the podium was Portorico’s 400 metres hurdles star Javier Culson, who surprisingly came to the fore by winning the silver medal at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin. Tomorrow will be the turn of US stars Sanya Richards and Allyson Felix. The former, reigning 400 metres World champion, will arrive from the USA, the latter, who is the reigning 200 metres world champion, will come directly from Montecarlo, her summer-base during the European circuit. It should not be forgotten that tomorrow will be the announced arrival day of Usain Bolt to Italy.

DAVID RUDISHA KO WILL NOT RUN AT THE COMPEED GOLDEN GALA
David Rudisha, 800 metres World record holder, has sadly pulled out of the Compeed Golden Gala on 26th May at the Olympic Stadium in Rome, the third leg of the Samsung Diamond League. Rudisha, one of the most awaited stars of the Rome meeting, has announced that he has not fully recovered his full fitness from the slight injury he suffered from just some weeks ago at the beginning of May, which forced him to withdraw from the opening leg of the Samsung Diamond League in Doha. However, the Rome’s 800 metres field are still a world-class race which features the clash between World champion Mbulaeni Mulaudzi from South Africa and Kenyans Asbel Kiprop, Boaz Lalang and David Mutua.
