Once again this year, the UN agency World Food Programme and its app ShareTheMeal are taking to the track alongside the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea – Presented by IP – and the stars of athletics to help combat global hunger. The initiative supports the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, where more than 24 million people are facing hunger and famine has been declared in ten regions of the country. The WFP is striving to reach up to 7 million people each month, but it needs everyone’s support to do so.
Thanks to the backing of the Golden Gala – organised by FIDAL and Sport e Salute – and the global athletics community, a special challenge has been launched on the ShareTheMeal app to involve the public and raise vital funds for the emergency response in Sudan.
