Lyles has arrived, stars are coming to Rome!

The world’s biggest athletics stars are arriving in Rome, and the atmosphere is already building ahead of the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea.

At 12:15 p.m., Olympic 100-meter champion Noah Lyles landed at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport. Wearing a hooded sweatshirt, dark sunglasses, and showing complete focus, Lyles is preparing for Thursday night’s highly anticipated showdown at the Stadio Olimpico at 10:52 p.m. against Jacobs, Tebogo, Anthony, and many other sprint stars.

At the official event hotel, Lyles had lunch with reigning world champion in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, who completed her first training session in Rome early in the afternoon. Training sessions will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Stadio dei Marmi, with free stand access for all fans.

Later in the day, more international champions arrived in the Italian capital, including shot put star Ryan Crouser, Tebogo himself, and sprinter Dina Asher-Smith. Most of the line up for the 46th edition of the event will arrive in Rome tomorrow for the Italian leg of the Wanda Diamond League.
