Golden Gala: Bolt arrived in Rome

Usain Bolt, the star of the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea, arrived in Rome. Bolt, who won the 100m, the 200m and the 4×100 relay Olympic titles in two consecutive editions of the Olympic Games and World record holder over these distances,  landed today at the Fiumicino Airport. A bit tired after the long flight from Jamaica to the Italian Capital after a stopover in London, Bolt was taken to the ATA Hotel Villa Pamphili, the Headquarer of the Golden Gala, where he will stay during the week of the Rome meeting. On 6th June he will run the 100m on the Olympic Stadium track for the third consecutive year. He won in both races he contested in Rome and clocked a super-fast 9.76 in the past edition of the meeting.

Tomorrow the pre-meeting press conference with the fastest man in the world will be held tomorrow at the ATA Hotel Hotel Villa Pamphili. On Wednesday 5th June the other press conferences with the other top stars of the Rome meeting will be held from 11 in the same venue. Among the athletes invited to the press conference there are US sprinters Justin Gatlin (100m) and Allyson Felix (200m), long jumper Brittney Reese, high jumpers Anna Chicherova and Blanka Vlasic, French pole vaulter Renaud Lavillenie and Italian top stars Daniele Greco and Alessia Trost.
