Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for the 2018 Road To The Final! After a rip-roaring 2017, it’s time to look ahead to next year.
Today, the IAAF Diamond League releases the 2018 Diamond Disciplines, revealing which meetings will host which disciplines during the course of next season.
As in 2017, the world’s top athletes will compete for points in a series of qualifying meetings as they bid for a place in the IAAF Diamond League Final. In each discipline, those who have picked up the most points on the Road To The Final will earn a starting place at either Zurich or Brussels, and a shot at winning the Diamond Trophy.
In the women’s 100m, for example, athletes will be able to pick up points in Doha, Eugene, Oslo, Stockholm, Lausanne and Monaco as they compete for a place in the Zurich Final. Will Elaine Thompson defend her title in 2018?
