Pre-meeting press conference
The traditional pre-meeting press conference will he held on Wednesday 9 June from 11am at the Salone dei Cinquecento (Hall of the Five Hundred) in Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. Some of the best athletes taking part to the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea will attend the press conference (names will be announced in the days before the meeting). The accredited media representatives will have access to the Hall in the respect of Covid-19 rules in force at this venue (use of personal protection equipment, interpersonal distance of 1 metre and hand sanitization). Short dedicated one-to-one interviews to the athletes will be possible only for accredited international broadcasters, in the respect of specific Covid-19 rules (use of pre-sanitized equipment, use of microphone poles, respect of distance and defined shooting points).
Media facilities at the stadium
The following media services will be available until two hours after the end of the meeting at the Asics Firenze Marathon Stadium, considering the restrictions caused by the ongoing pandemic (the valid prevention rules are shown in the document which be downloaded here).
- Media Tribune: The access is allowed to the only accredited Media on the day of the meeting. Highspeed LAN Connection for the media.
- Non-rightholders mixed zone: the access is allowed to a maximum number of fifteen journalists at the same time.
- The entire stadium will be covered by a highspeed wi-fi internet connection dedicated to the Media.
- Paper documents will not be distributed to Media, apart from Broadcasters operating LIVE from the stadium (in any case, no results will be provided on paper).
According to usual procedures, the accredited photographers will be divided in two groups, depending on whether the access to the Field of Play (FOP) is allowed or not. A maximum number of eight accredited photographers will be allowed on the FOP, plus other two ones with rotating shifts, following an unappealable evaluation of Photo Manager of the meeting, made in connection with WA and WDL on the base of standard priority rules. Photographers, who won’t be admitted to the Field of Play, will be able to use two specific shooting points: the head-on platform on the finish-line (where a highspeed LAN connection will also be available) and at the start of the 200 metres. In order to reach these two points, accredited photographers will be able to move through the ditch that surrounds the entire stands (except from the part below the final straight). Photo bibs will be provided to accredited media during the Photo briefing, which will take place on Thursday 10 June at the ASICS Firenze Marathon Stadium at 16.00; on that occasion, the Photo Manager will provide details on the operating procedures. A small working room will also be available only for photographers until two hours after the end of the meeting in an internal zone (the access is limited to a maximum number of eight photographers), equipped by a highspeed LAN connection.
