The <strong>Palio dei Comuni<\/strong>, the traditional 12&#215;200-metre relay that opens the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea, has officially sold out. A total of 161 teams and around 2,000 students from across Italy are set to take part in what promises to be an unforgettable day on the track that, just a few hours later, will host Olympic and world champions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boys and girls will transform the Olympic Stadium into a stage of enthusiasm, participation, and sporting passion, promoted and organised by the Italian Athletics Federation. Heats will begin at 4:00 p.m., while the final will take place at 8.40 pm and feature the nine best relay teams, which will wear a special jersey dedicated to the European Athletics U18 Championships in Rieti, scheduled for July 16\u201319.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For many participants, this will be their first encounter with top-level athletics.
